Pregnancy is a wonderful time for most women, but during the 40 weeks there are many changes occurring, both externally and internally. Although it is a joyful experience it can also be a challenging and stressful time. The mother's body is changing quickly to meet the needs of the growing child. This is a time when she starts to think more about her health and getting fit and well. This is where the Complementary Health Practitioner comes into action!

Pregnancy is one of the most exciting times of change for a woman, but doesn’t come without its problems. Maternity Reflexology is tailored to care for the mind, body and spirit of mum and new baby. This can start as early as preconception, and then is carried out through pregnancy, labour and the post-natal period.
Reflexology, is a safe and practical therapy for pregnant women. It can help to energise, harmonise and balance giving a healthier pregnancy. It has also been said that it can help give a shorter, easier labour/delivery and recovery after the birth.
Many midwives and other birth professionals are now incorporating reflexology into their practice as a gentle and effective way of helping relax the labouring woman, to ease pain and calm anxiety - either on its own or alongside conventional methods of pain relief.
This Diploma course will help you to learn about how to adapt your reflexology treatments throughout each stage of pregnancy and learn about all contraindications and physiological changes associated with pregnancy.
